Gayla Wick was raised by a loving traditional family in rural West Virginia. After graduating high school with honors, she left to spread her wings in the historical city of Boston. There, she experienced the excitement and culture of the big city while earning her undergraduate and graduate degrees. Gayla spent the last twenty five years in various security management leadership positions including Director of Public Safety for a Boston women's college.

She is now following her lifelong passion for writing and helping other women. Once a journalist for a local newspaper with her own daily column, Gayla has also written extensively for previous employers and volunteer organizations.

Quite unexpectedly she found the love of her life when she thought it didn't exist - even though it was her heart's desire. She's written this book for all of the women who find themselves in similar circumstances.

She currently resides with her husband in Colorado. Her adult son and daughter live nearby.
